History

The Houston Area Gun Shows, Austin Gun Show, Waco Gun Show and San Antonio Gun Show all have their origins in the Original Fort Worth Gun Show. The Original Fort Worth Gun show began in the early 70’s at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. The show was operated by the Southside Optimist Club of Fort Worth with club member Bob Norman as show director. The show continued to be a success with attendance growing each year.

Over the years, the club chose to divest itself of the show. Bob Norman did not let the tradition die, but took the reins and continued the favorite pastime of many. With the passing of Bob in 2005 the roles shifted to his daughter Michelle who had helped her father with the shows since their creation. Michelle and her husband Tim, who joined her in 1981, have continued to faithfully run and grow the popularity of the gun show.

Today The Original Fort Worth Gun Show, a two-day mega event held six times yearly, has thousands in attendance to buy, sell, trade and browse guns, knives, ammo, shooting supplies and much more. Now growing even larger, the show has added other venues with the Mesquite Rodeo Gun Show, Lewisville Gun Show, Waco Gun Show, San Antonio Gun Show, Austin Gun Show and the Houston Area Gun Shows.

The gun show welcomes you and invites you to be a part of these shows!
